FAQ

1. What is Cultured Marble?

Cultured Marble is a special blend of crushed marble, glass frit, polyester resin and/or alumina trihydate fillers.  These materials are mixed, and then poured into special designs( molds) and then cured to a specified hardness.  They can be molded into any shape, color and design, resulting in a one-piece seamless figure such as vanity tops, bathtubs, and shower units.

2. What are the Advantages of Marble?

Durability: You will be able to enjoy your new marble product for many years to come because of the materials used in the product and the manufacturing process used to make it durable.

Strength: Cultured marble is coated in a mold with a clear gel.  The outer layer provides the ultimate strength.  It makes the product waterproof and durable.  The gel coat gives the product a beautiful and shiny surface.

Watertight: Because the marble is cast in molds, there are minimal seams in the product.  With the use of mildew proof silicone caulk, it becomes virtually leak proof.

 3. How do I clean my new marble?

To properly clean cultured marble products, it is recommended that you wipe with a damp cloth or sponge using household soap or liquid detergent.  DO NOT use any cleaning products containg abrasives or solvents since these could dull the brilliant surface.  Harsh chemicals should never be used on cultured marble.
